[AWARDS] Morgan Andrews of Milford (N.H.) High School became the first player to repeat as the Gatorade National GirlsSoccer Player of the Year, taking the 2012-13 award.
Andrews was surprised with the news during a school assembly by three-time gold medalist HeatherO’Reilly.
The 5-foot-9 senior forward led the Spartans to a 16-3-1 record and the Division II state title this past season with 31 goals and 18 assists. She notched both goals inMilford’s 2-1 win over Souhegan High in the state final.
Andrews was the captain of the U.S. under-17 women’s national team and a member of the under-20 and under-23 playerpools.
She was the 2012 National Soccer Coaches Association of America High School Player of the Year and a three-time NSCAA All-American selection, finishing her prep soccer career with114 goals and 53 assists.
