[USL] United Soccer Leagues have had teams in the United States and Canada, as well as Puerto Rico and Bermuda. Now they will move to Antigua with theannouncement that Barracuda FC will join the USL First Division for the 2011 season.
“This is yet another positive step forward in the growth of the USL First Division for2011,” USL CEO Alec Papadakis said. “Coupled with our announcement of Orlando as a 2011 expansion team, the addition of Barracuda FC continuesUSL’s positive momentum with more news to come.”
Barracuda FC plays at a 12,000-seat stadium in St. John’s. Its participation will be subject to the formal approval ofboth federations (Antigua & Barbuda Football Association and United States Soccer Federation) as well as Concacaf and FIFA.
