Barcelona coach Ernesto Valverde refused to comment about the future of Barca in La Liga in light of the latest developments in the dispute between Spain and Catalonia.
”Nothing has happened [in relation to Barcelona not being in La Liga] and we’re only talking about hypothetical situations,” he said. “I have my own opinion but I just want toconcentrate on sports questions, especially because the political situation appears to change every half hour.”
The remarks followed the decision by the Spanish government to fireCatalonia’s regional government, dissolve the Catalan parliament and call for an election in the region on Dec. 21.
