Toronto FC striker Chad Barrett, who hadn’t scored an MLS goal since the fourth-to-last match of 2009, scored twice in last weekend’s 4-1 win over Chicago.

“I need to score goals. I’ve said that from the get-go,” said the 25-year-old who scored five goals last season. I still have a lot of goals to give. That’s somethingI’m looking forward to doing.”

Barrett is delighted that BMO Field now has natural grass. Finding the net is the least he can do after “all that moaning and complaining Idid last year” about the tough bounces and slick surface of the stadium’s FieldTurf, which drew his ire for more than a few missed chances. “Now that we have the grass, I think I owesome goals,” Barrett said with a smile.
