• Florida State claims top seed again. The defending champion is one of four No. 1 seeds in the 2022 NCAA Tournament. The Seminoles, the ACC champions. are a No. 1 seed for the fifth season in a row. The other top seeds are Notre Dame. Alabama and UCLA, which all claimed at-large bids.
• The ACC snags 10 tournament berths. The ACC led all conferences with 10 teams (out of 14 in the conference) receiving NCAA Tournament bids. Besides Florida State and Notre Dame, North Carolina, Duke, Virginia and Pittsburgh also were seeded.
• Three teams headed to postseason for first time. New Mexico State (WAC champion), Omaha (Summit champion) and Pitt advanced to the NCAA tournament for the first time.
