Newcastle United managing director Lee Charnley was arrested and later released without charges in connection with a wide-ranging HM Revenue and Customs investigation into suspected criminaltax fraud in pro soccer in England and France. Offices of Newcastle United and West Ham United were raided on Wednesday as 180 officers looking into income tax and national insurance fraud weredeployed across the UK and France.
