[UCLA MEN] Goalie Earl Edwards and forward Victor Chavez, who both started forthe USA at the 2009 Under-17 World Cup, head UCLA’s outstanding recruiting class, one of the best in the country.

Other freshmen include ZackFoxhoven, Reid Hukari, Patrick Matchett, Bradley McIntosh, Kelyn Rowe, Joseph Sofia Jr., Andrew Tusaazemajja and Reed Williams.

Also joining Bruins is transfer student Kyle Bethel, who had nine starts at Duke in 2008 as a freshman and was namedto the ACC All-Freshman team after ranking third on the Duke squad with 10 points.

Edwards, who will be enrolling at UCLA this spring, is considered one of the top goalkeeping prospectsto come through the U-17 national team program.

Chavez was a late addition to the U-17 national team after starring for Real So Cal. He scored 14 goals for and was named to the U-15/16U.S. Soccer Academy Starting XI in 2009.

Foxhoven, whose sister Danielle is a star at Portland, scored 26 goals in 25 games in 2008-09 for Colorado Rush.

Rowe has starredfor Crossfire Premier and Federal Way High School since his freshman year.

Sofia and Matchett, who play for the Irvine Strikers, are two of the top defenders in the 2010 recruitingclass.
