Premier League champ Manchester City has moved “beyond a period of heavy investment” that was necessary to make the team competitive, chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak declared onWednesday. The Abu Dhabi businessman added that the club is closer to breaking even after posting losses of 22.9 million pounds ($35.9 million) for the year ending May 31, 2014. As the BBC points out,that figure includes a 16.2 million pound fine City paid to UEFA for breaching Financial Fair Play regulations.
