Premier League leader Chelsea could set a new record for the amount of time spent at the top of England’s first division. Jose Mourinho’s team, which holds a commanding seven-pointlead with the added cushion of a game in-hand, has already been top of the league for 230 days since Aug. 30, with Tottenham only briefly wresting first place away from the Blues at the start of theseason, on goal difference.
If the London club is still there on May 13, it will have broken the record of 262 days at the top, set by Manchester United’s double-winning team in the1993/94 season.
