[NASL] The on-again, off-again North American Soccer League will go forward in 2011 thanks to the decision of U.S. Soccer Board of Directors, in a 6-5 vote, toprovisionally sanction the Division 2 men’s outdoor league.
The NASL will need to meet certain requirements defined by the Board of Directors to be granted full sanctioning beyondthe 2011 season.

The first-year NASL had recently lost itsprovisional sanctioning over concerns about the depth of its ownership support.
Traffic Sports USA, the sports management firm that owns Miami FC, is part-owner of the Atlanta team andwas reported to be negotiations to take over Carolina, while Minnesota was operated by the league.
The league’s most stable team, Montreal, will move to MLS in 2012.
