Borussia Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke tells the BVB’s official Web site that he remains “100 percent” convinced that Jurgen Klopp is the right man to lead his team out of therelegation zone. The 2013 UEFA Champions League finalist is in real danger of relegation following a first half of the season that saw the BVB earn just 15 points from 17 games. It is currently 17thout of 18 clubs going into the second half, which begins Jan 30.
“There’s no blueprint for the situation we are in at the moment,” Watzke said. “I still think that Jurgen Klopp is anexcellent coach. It would be strange to say otherwise after the last six or seven years. I’m still 100 percent convinced that he’s the right man. If you go from one success to another for six years,then it may happen that things go in a different direction for a while.”
Watzke also noted that following the arrival of Red Bull Salzburg midfielder Kevin Kampl earlier this month,more signings during the transfer window are “very unlikely but not impossible.”
