1. Efrain Alvarez is with Mexico’s U-17 national team for the next week and a half. The team, which is preparing for the Concacafunder-17 championship in May, is in Acapulco and will then head to Mexico City for a friendly against Costa Rica on April 11. El Tri’s three foreign-based U-17s are Alvarez, who played in the LAGalaxy’s first two MLS games, FC Dallas academy midfielder Diego Letayf and Dutch-based Teun Wilke.
