Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson will have his new signing, Mexican youngster JavierHernandez, available to face the MLS All-Stars Wednesday in Houston.
Ferguson says by signing Hernandez before the World Cup, the club saved millions of pounds.The transfer fee paid to Guadalajara hasn’t been disclosed but is said to be 7 million pounds (about $10.7 million). United is also playing a friendly in Guadalajara to open the new Estadio Omnilifeon Friday.
Hernandez, who scored against France and Argentina at the World Cup, joined the team over the weekend and Ferguson will assess his fitness before deciding if, and how much, hewill play. MLS officials believe the prospect of seeing Hernandez will spark ticket sales for the match at Reliant Stadium, which holds 71,500.
