FIFA’s executive committee on Thursday decided that the 2022 World Cup final would be held on Dec. 18. Incidentally, this is the same date as Qatar’s National Day, for which the Middle Easterncountry celebrates its independence. The 2022 World Cup will be played in the winter to avoid the intense heat of June and July, and the tournament will also be shortened to 28 days instead of theusual 32, the committee revealed.
