FIFA on Thursday rejected Liverpool and Uruguay striker Luis Suarez’s appeal against a four-month ban from all soccer-related activities for biting Italy’s GiorgioChiellini. The Uruguayan soccer federation (AUF) had described FIFA’s ruling as an “excessive decision” for which “there was not enough evidence”. Suarez can now make a further appeal to theEuropean Union’s Court of Arbitration for Sport. Liverpool has since been in transfer negotiations with Spanish giant Barcelona over a 75 million euro ($102 million) move for the striker.
