[ANDROMEDA SC] Andromeda Soccer Club, the Dallas area club that has won three U.S. Youth Soccer national championships since 2007, has received a capitalinfusion of $4 million on its 30th anniversary.
The money will allow the club to pay off the mortgageon the club’s 35-acre training facility located in east Plano, where 42 teams train.
“We have been working on this transaction for a very long time,” said Andromeda PresidentStan Strifler. “To finally have it done and behind us — and to know that it secures the next 30 years for this very special club — is truly an occasionfor celebration.
“We owe a great deal of thanks to the Hewes family — specifically, brothers Andyand Steve Hewes — for making this a reality. The transaction was so complex and the economic environment so completely unsupportive that any normal backerswould have walked away months ago. Their resolve to get this done was simply above and beyond. And we would be remiss if we did not mention the Behringer family — specifically
Theproject will also fund construction of three all-weather turf futsal fields and the improvement of the coaching staff.
“We already believed that we had the finest youth soccer trainingfacility in the country,” said Mike Powers, the girls director of coaching for Andromeda. “But to know that we will now be making even further investmentin the facility is truly a coach’s dream.”
It will fund construction of three all-weather turf futsal fields and the improvement of thecoaching staff.

Great to hear for Andromeda. Nice to see people helping out.Only one caveat with the story, futsal is never played on turf, only on court or a hard surface. Just clarifying.
