The United States are through to the Round of 16! The Americans won their first knockout match at a World Cup since 2002 on Wednesday night, taking down Bosnia & Herzegovina in Santa Clara via a 2-0 scoreline, despite playing down a man for the final 30 minutes after striker Folarin Balogun was sent off after a VAR review.

GOALKEEPER

Matt Freese came back into the starting lineup after resting in the final group match, and wasn’t particularly busy during the opening stages. After the red card, the New York City FC keeper was called into action more, although none of his three saves were particularly difficult. He commanded his box with authority, though, and was quick to come off his line on several occasions.
