In an interview with Eurosport, LA Galaxy midfielder Steven Gerrard concedes that the standard of play in MLS is much higher than he initially thought.“A lot of people talk about the MLS, about the level, but for me a lot of them are wrong,” the former Liverpool captain said, adding: “Until you come here and sample it yourself, yousee how strong it is and how fit and professional the players are. Every single game is a different challenge, certainly on the road you come up against places and teams where it is very hot and veryhumid; some teams play on astroturf. So each game is very tricky and very difficult.” The 35-year-old said he expects the American soccer league to continue to grow and improve.

Steven has to come up with something to explain his lower-than-expected impact on the team.
You play better when you play with better. That might explain it.
