Luis Suarez began training with new club Barcelona on Friday after the European Court of Arbitration for Sport amended the four-month ban from “all football activity” imposed on himby world governing body FIFA for biting Italy defender Giorgio Chiellieni at the World Cup. The CAS decreed that Suarez is now able to train and take part in international and domesticfriendlies, though his four-month club ban and nine-game international ban remain intact.

Speaking to reporters following his first full day of training, the striker said: “I’m very happy tofeel like a soccer player again and to be with my teammates. I really wanted to get going. It was an uncomfortable situation. I’m paying for an error that I committed.”

As part of the CASruling, Suarez is now also clear to enter soccer stadiums and take part in promotional materials. As such, the former Liverpool star will be formally unveiled as a Barca player on Monday, ESPNreports.
