Sandra Redknapp, the 69-year-old wife of former English coach Harry Redknapp, was seriously injured when he accidentally ran over her ankle in the Range Rover he was driving.
The Sun reported that Harry Redknapp was dropping his wife off to shop when her coat got caught under his car as he pulled away and he rode over her ankle.
“It was just a freakaccident you know,” he told the BBC. “Sandra went across the road and unfortunately she had gone behind the car to cross over the road and as I went to drive off I drove over her ankle. It’s lucky. Ifthe full weight of the car had gone over the ankle, God knows what would have happened to her. We’re OK. She had an operation on her ankle that went well.”
