Zlatan Ibrahimovic turned provider as Paris St. Germain thrashed Dinamo Zagreb 4-0 on Tuesday to knock the Croatian team out of the UEFA Champions League. The big Swede, playing ina deeper playmaking position, assisted on all four goals, scored by Alex, Blaise Matuidi, Jeremy Menez, and Guillaume Hoarau.
After the game, PSG coachCarlo Ancelotti was full of praise for his star man. “[Ibrahimovic] uses his abilities to help the others and that is why he is a fantastic player,” Ancelotti said. “That’s thedifference between a great player and a champion. He is a champion, he is a fantastic leader.”
Dinamo coach Ante Cacic admitted his team could not contain the former ACMilan striker. “Ibrahimovic sees things that others don’t. We’re not the last team who will struggle to contain him.”
PSG has now virtually secured qualification for the second round, onlyneeding a draw from one of its final two games to progress. Group A leader FC Porto, which drew 0-0 with Dynamo Kiev, also needs a point from its last two games to guarantee qualification.
