D.C. United signed 17-year-old academy product Jackson Hopkins as its 18th Homegrown Player signing on a four-year contract plus two option years.
• Hopkins, a midfielder, signed an academy contract with Loudoun United and played in the 2021 USL Championship. He has been training with the first team for the last six months.
• The D.C. United first team has 10 players on its roster who are classified as Homegrown Players or were Homegrown Players when they first signed.
