FIFA president Gianni Infantino says he’ll let everyone know how much he is being paid when he finds out himself. His salary has still not been confirmed three months after he took office andwas the subject of reports linking the resignation of Domenico Scala, FIFA’saudit and compliance committee chairman and in-house reform champion, to a dispute with Infantino over how much the new FIFA president would be paid.
In a column written for Switzerland’sNeue Zuercher Zeitung, Infantino said: “My salary should not be a central issue in this. From the start, I made clear that my salary will be a matter of public record and that it should be lower thanthe salaries of the previous FIFA president and secretary general. I will announce it as soon as it has been confirmed.”
