In an interview with BBC, USA striker Jozy Altidore says that Sunderland is still a team in transition after its summer recruitment, still needing to integrateits new arrivals into the squad. Coach Gus Poyet has made nine new signings, including Jack Rodwell and Jordi Gomez. The Black Cats tied two and lost one of the club’sopening three Premier League games.
“It’s a transition and these are the hard times especially for fans,” the 24-year-old USA striker said. “They want to see the team besuccessful right now which is difficult.” Altidore joined Sunderland from AZ Alkmaar last season and had a disappointing first season at the Stadium of Light, managing just two goals in allcompetitions.
