Julius James is currently the head coach of Inter Miami’s U-14 academy team. Originally from Trinidad & Tobago, James played college soccer at UConn. The central defender’s four-year stint with the Huskies culminated with his nomination for the 2007 Hermann Trophy before James was drafted 8th overall in the following year’s MLS SuperDraft. James then enjoyed an over decade-long career in the United States, playing for a number of MLS clubs and teams in other domestic leagues. On top of his club career, James made 16 appearances for his country of birth on the international stage. He became an Inter Miami academy coach in 2020.
