Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany will miss the Premier League games against West Ham United and Sunderland and is questionable for the game against Tottenham on Sept. 26, theclub reported Friday. The Belgium international suffered the injury — his 10th calf injury in the last three seasons — during Tuesday’s 2-1 defeat to Juventus in the UEFA Champions League.Kompany’s absence forces City coach Manuel Pellegrini to break up a defense that has yet to concede a goal in the EPL this season. Pablo Zabaleta, Gaël Clichy and Fabian Delph willalso miss the clash against West Ham, while Samir Nasir is a doubt.
