LAFC named former MLS midfielder John Thorrington as its executive vice president of soccer operations, its first hire on the soccer side for the club that will join MLS in 2018.Thorrington, who will manage player and personnel decisions for LAFC, served as special assistant to executive director Bob Foose at the Major League Soccer Players Union and will soon earn anMBA from the prestigious Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
