In an interview with L’Equipe, Bayern Munich captain Philipp Lahm said he would likely retire when his current contract with the Bavarian giant expires in 2018 rather than moveto MLS or Qatar. Lahm, 31, has won five Bundesliga and German Cup titles each, and remains an influential part of coach Pep Guardiola’s team, which carries a massive 11-point lead into thesecond part of the Bundesliga season, which begins Jan 30. The German World Cup winner is currently sidelined with a broken ankle that could keep him out of action until March.
