USA captain Carli Lloyd is among ten players on the shortlist for the 2015 Ballon d’Or award handed out to the world’s best female player, alongside teammates MeganRapinoe and Hope Solo. Lloyd, winner of the Golden Ball at this summer’s FIFA Women’s World Cup, scored a hat-trick in the USA’s 5-2 win against Japan in July, finishingthe tournament with six goals in all.
