New Mexico men’s program has added four area players in Carson Baldinger, Javier Gomez, Riley McGovern and San Diego State transfer Devon Sandoval.
Baldinger is a 6-1 forward and was the 2009 5A New Mexico Player of theYear and a High School All-American at la Cueva High School. Gomez is a 5-11 midfielder who was a two-time all-state selection at Rio Rancho High School. McGovern is a 6-2 defender and was the 4ANew Mexico Player of the Year in 2009 at Farmington High School.
Sandoval is currently enrolled at UNM and is training with the team this winter. He transferred from San Diego StateUniversity after a strong freshman season in the fall of 2009 and will have three years of eligibility remaining at UNM. Sandoval was a three-time all-state selection at Eldorado High School beforeattending SDSU.
“If there are players from New Mexico who we feel can make our program better, we want them here,” said Lobo head coach JeremyFishbein. “We definitely feel that we’ve done that with the four local players joining us in 2010.”

Hafling is a 6-3 goalkeeper from Male High School in Louisville, Ky., who was a two-time Adidas ESP Camp participant. Kafari is a 6-1 forward who led hisCentennial High team in Boise, Idaho, to a 5A State Championship in 2009. Poblete is a 6-4 goalkeeper who was a two-time Desert Valley Region Selection at Brophy College Prep in Scottsdale, Ariz.Rollie is a 5-7 midfielder/defender from Los Angeles who is a member of the U.S. U-18 pool.
