• Richard Odada signs with Union through 2024. The 21-year-old Kenyan was signed from Red Star Belgrade for an undisclosed transfer fee. The 6-foot-3 Odada is a defensive midfielder but can also play at center back. He has played most of the last three seasons on loan to various Serbian top-tier clubs.
• Wilder Cartagena joins Orlando City. The Peruvian international (18 caps) was acquired on loan for the rest of 2022 from UAE’s Al-Ittihad Kalba SC with an option to extend through 2023. The Lions are looking for the 27-year-old Cartagena to add defensive depth in the midfield.
• Jacob Shaffelburg headed on loan to Nashville SC. Toronto FC will receive $225,000 in GAM for the loan through the 2022 season. Nashville SC also gets a 2022 international roster spot and an option to exercise a permanent transfer for the 2021 Best Young Canadian Player.
