Malmo coach Age Hareide likened striker Markus Rosenberg to Sweden legend Zlatan Ibrahimovicafter his two goals led the underdog to a 2-0 win against Greek champ Olympiakos inUEFA Champions League Group A action on Wednesday. Ibrahimovic, who is currently sidelined with a heel injury at Paris Saint-Germain, made his name at the Swedish club before embarking on ascintillating career.
“Now with Zlatan injured, he [Rosenberg] is the best,” Hareide said of his striker after the game. Rosenberg, 32, admitted he is enjoying a good run of form. “There’s beena lot of goals lately,” he said. “Attackers should score goals, and important goals. It’s always nice to be mentioned up there (with Ibrahimovic).”<
Rosenberg, who has now scored six times inUCL qualifying as well as the group stage so far this season, said that despite his good form, he will not be returning to the Swedish national team.
Malmo’s win painted a complicatedpicture for Group A, as all four teams now have three points from two matches.
