Manchester City acquired Tottenham defender Kyle Walker for a transfer fee with add-ons that could rise to 53 million pounds (more than $69 million). With the add-ons, it would make Walker themost expensive defender in history, eclipsing the fee of $65 million Paris St. Germain paid for Chelsea’s David Luiz in 2014.
When you have to pay that much for a defender he must have the skills of a Pele and a Cruyff combined. Seriously, what is this guy suppose do, overlap, play midfield, center forward and play goal, after he makes his run. I can understand it if he faced players like a Pele,a Cruyff every game and being able to handle them but he’ll face players that couldn’t shine Cruyff’s shoes.

Maybe his asking price was 2 million lbs. The people thought it was too much money to spend on a defensive mid. I saw him play a half a game here when Howard was going to leave my beloved Meterstars to go there. This guy was the most complete defensive mid I ever saw. Well worth the money. He scored on an outside shot from way out. He was always open for their backs to do to. A very skillful player. He got a ball from the back first thing he did was look tio through pass. No option then he would reverse the field. He did not play like a machine on attack. He moved up in the attack. He also did the defensive duties you would expect the defensive mid to do. I would have bought it no matter what the fans said.
