With Mexico scheduled to play in the 2017 Confederations Cup, it won’t send its “A” team to the Gold Cup later in the summer. Coach Juan Carlos Osorio denied that Mexico would send Guadalajara– which only fields Mexican players — as a substitute, saying it would be unfair for other Mexican players interested in representing the national team. Osorio said the goals in order ofpriority are: 1. World Cup qualifying, 2. Confederations Cup and 3. Gold Cup.
