• Chris McGowan, who has more than two decades of experience with three of the top organizations in North American sports, has been hired as executive vice president in charge of MLS’s new Club Performance and Optimization group. McGowan held positions as president and CEO of Ilitch Sports and Entertainment (Detroit Red Wings, Detroit Tigers) and Vulcan Sports & Entertainment (Portland Trail Blazers) and before that was chief operating officer of AEG Sports. He’ll report directly to MLS Commissioner Don Garber.
