Atlanta United and Minnesota United  traded Danny Toia and Chris Duvall, respectively, almost immediately after making them their first-round picks in the MLSExpansion Draft. Atlanta ended up with the No. 8 pick in the 2017 SuperDraft while the Loons acquired Costa Rican international Johan Venegas, their first major attacking signing.
