Zack Steffen, who starred for the USA at the 2015 Under-20 World Cup, signed with the Columbus Crew as a Discovery Player following his transfer from German club Freiburg. The 21-year-oldgoalkeeper had signed with Freiburg after his second season at Maryland in 2014 but was limited to 14 appearances with Freiburg II in the fourth-level Regionalliga.
