San Jose, Houston and Chicago clinched playoff spots, leaving just half of the 18 postseason slots, including the four wild cards, up for grabs.
The Earthquakes tied overall leader Nashville SC, 1-1, thanks to Preston Judd‘s 16th goal of the season. In 2025, San Jose, in Coach Bruce Arena‘s first year at the helm, barely missed the playoffs on the overall wins tiebreaker. They last reached the postseason, with a wild-card spot, in 2023. This season will mark San Jose’s fourth playoff appearance in 14 years.
