Chelsea coach Jose Mourinho on Tuesday hit back at Montserrat Seara, the wife of Real Madrid coach Rafael Benitez, after she joked that her husband was always cleaning up the“mess” made by the Portuguese after departing a club. Mourinho responded by noting that the only club where Benitez directly replaced him was at Inter Milan, “where in six months hedestroyed the best team in Europe at the time,” he said. Indeed, Mourinho had guided Inter to a domestic double as well as the UEFA Champions League title in 2009-10, whereas Benitez, Mourinho’sreplacement after the Portuguese left for Real Madrid, lasted just six months after Inter was seventh halfway through the following season. The Blues coach then told Seara to spend less time talkingabout him, and more time focusing on her husband’s diet.
