The NASL’s antitrust lawsuit against U.S. Soccer and MLS took more than seven years to come to trial in federal district court. The trial lasted 14 days, but when the case went to Brooklyn jurors on Monday, they acted quickly.
It took less than two hours for the jury to render its verdict in favor of U.S. Soccer and MLS.

The NASL claimed that U.S. Soccer and MLS had violated Section 1 and Section 2 of the Sherman Act by conspiring with each other to deny it Division I sanctioning in 2016, and by conspiring with each other and the USL to deny it Division 2 sanctioning in 2018.
