Julius Menendez, who was the head coach of the U.S. boxing team and coached Cassius Clay (Muhammad Ali) to a gold medal at the 1960 Rome Olympics and was assistant coach on the U.S. soccer team at the 1972 Munich Olympics, passed away on April 14, two days before his 91stbirthday in Gilroy, Calif.
