Michele Kang continues to make moves at Lyon, where she purchased the women’s section at French club Olympique Lyonnais in 2024.

On Monday, three days after OL won its 17th French league title in 18 seasons, the American revealed the team’s new name: OL Lyonnes.

“This is not about just a name change and some graphic changes,” Kang said in Lyon. “This is really to redefine what’s possible for women’s football.”

She also announced that next season OL Lyonnes will play all its matches in Décines at Groupama Stadium, the 59,186-seat stadium that is home of the OL men’s team and hosted the 2019 Women’s World Cup final.
