Michele Kang continues to make moves at Lyon, where she purchased the women’s section at French club Olympique Lyonnais in 2024.
• On Monday, three days after OL won its 17th French league title in 18 seasons, the American revealed the team’s new name: OL Lyonnes.
“This is not about just a name change and some graphic changes,” Kang said in Lyon. “This is really to redefine what’s possible for women’s football.”
• She also announced that next season OL Lyonnes will play all its matches in Décines at Groupama Stadium, the 59,186-seat stadium that is home of the OL men’s team and hosted the 2019 Women’s World Cup final.
