U.S. defender Omar Gonzalez faced the media after scoring an own goal in the USA’s costly defeat to Trinidad & Tobago. He apologized to the fans and said of his attemptedclearance that soared some 13 yards and over goalkeeper Tim Howard  just underneath the crossbar: “It’s one that will haunt me forever.”
