The makeover of Toronto FC has accelerated with the impending debuts of midfielder Torsten Frings and forward DannyKoevermans.
TFC sent allocation money to Vancouver in exchange for midfielder Terry Dunfield, and sent three players to San Jose to acquiremidfielder/forward Ryan Johnson, allocation money, and a senior international slot. The moves came in the wake of head coach Aron Winter‘s proclamation last week that trades were imminent along with the arrivals of Frings and Koevermanns.

While he welcomes the chance to reunite with former TFC midfielder Sam Cronin, who was traded to SanJose last year, Peterson questions whether the Canadian club is headed in the right direction.
“I thought Sam was a great player who they should have held on to,” he said. “That seems tobe a common theme with Toronto. You see what Nick LaBrocca [traded to Chivas USA for Gordon in March] is doing this year and other payers around the leaguerecently traded by Toronto. It makes you stop and think.”
