Tottenham defender Toby Alderweireld, who has been out of action since October with a knee injury, is still sidelined. Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino admitted the Belgian’s recoveryhad been slow though he hopes to have him back in action by the end of the month.

“From the beginning we believed it would be a very short process and period before Toby was available, but the recovery was very slow,” Pochettino told reporters on Thursday. “The knock he got affected the nerve, but today he has started to join the group and that is very good news. It is maybe a fewweeks or 10 days for him to be available if all is going well.”

Tottenham has given up just four goals in its last six games since Alderweireld went out.
