After opening the four-team 2015 U-20 Women’s NTC Invitational in Southern California with a 3-0 loss to Japan, the U.S. U-20 women finished runner-up with a 2-1 win over Brazil and a 1-0 win overMexico. The 17-year-old Mallory Pugh scored both gamewinners and set up Taylor Racioppi’s opening goal against Brazil.
Pugh struck against Brazil afterwinning the ball deep in her own half and embarking on an 80-yard run.
Japan won the tournament crown by outscoring its three foes, 16-0. Brazil finished third and Mexico, which lost 2-0 toBrazil, finished four fourth.

Note do dense WNT coaches: teach your defenders to play out of the back. That’s how the top teams can play when they need to. So either you are unable to coach it, or our players are unable to perform it. By the time someone like Klinsmann tries to do something about it the adult level, it’s too late.
