Player agents in Germany reportedly earned more than 100 million euros ($119.3 million) during the 2013-14 season, Der Spiegel reports (via ESPN). The German pub claims it is the first timein Bundesliga history that agents made that much, citing unreleased German Football League (DFL) documents, which the league did not corroborate. According to the report, some agents receive bonusesfor championships and/or trophies.
Meanwhile, ESPN separately notes that Premier League clubs paid some 145 million euros ($173 million) to agents from October 2013 to September 2014, citingfigures recently released by the league, and more than one-third of that total was paid by three clubs: Manchester City, Chelsea and Liverpool.
