Several news outlets are reporting that Landon Donovan will only play 30 minutes when he walks out for his final match with the U.S. men’s national team against Ecuador in Hartford,Conn., on Friday. What’s unclear, however, is who made this decision: Donovan himself, with a view towards Sunday’s clash with FC Dallas, or USA coach Jurgen Klinsmann, whofamously dropped Donovan from his squad for the 2014 World Cup. As USA Today’s For the Win says, “If Donovan is only going to get a half hour in his send-off game, it should be by hisown choosing.”
