The USA survived a scare from Norway, but Germany and Japan weren’t so lucky, falling on the opening day of play at the Algarve Cup. Sweden, which faces the USA at the Women’s World Cup, came backfrom 2-0 down after four minutes to beat Germany, 4-2, while Denmark, which did not qualify for Canada 2015, edged Japan. In Cyprus, 16-year-old Jessie Flemingscored the winner for Canada in a 2-0 win over Scotland.
