Cristiano Ronaldo shrugged off speculation that he’ll leave for Paris St. Germain at the end of the current season with Real Madrid.
“The PSG links are nothing but speculation,” hetold AS. “This happens each and every year. People are already getting used to it that the name Cristiano is always surrounded by such rumors. But this club has helped me a lot ever since I arrivedhere and I am very happy in Madrid.”
Reports of a possible move to PSG were fueled by images of Ronaldo chatting with PSG coach Laurent Blanc after the recent match between Madridand PSG in the Champions League.
“What happened with Blanc is quite simple,” said Ronaldo. “If someone treats you well, you are nice to him. If someone from Chelsea, Manchester United orBarcelona is nice to me, I would talk to them as well. That obviously does not mean I am going there. I have a contract with Real Madrid and I am not going anywhere.”
Ronaldo, who set anew record for goals scored in the group stage of the Champions League in one season (11) following his four goals against Malmo on Tuesday, is under contract with Real Madrid until 2018.
